WAFA’s founder Tina Lindgreen along with Paul Vincent, co-founder and CEO of EnSo, and Anton Cable, founder and ambassador of WAF Youth Awards, will be introducing the opening of WAFA’s “call for applications” for the 2016 WAF Awards and the WAF Youth Awards along with discussions involving audience participation. All Seeds&Chips participants and attendees will be encouraged nominate or to apply for the water, air and food categories of the 2016 WAF Awards as long as their initiative has been active for two years.

Also joining the workshop is WAFA’s 2010 winner Mr. Rhamis Kent, Permaculture Research Institute, with a presentation on the opportunity of restoring two billion hectares of man made desert into agricultural lands, forests and savannahs.

People are creating “solutions for a much more sustainable way of living. And, it is very important that they get exposure and share their learning and their development with other people around the world. That is really why it is important that we receive the applications” – Tina Lindgreen.

Although the destination isn’t yet concrete, a historic conference with high-level Asian officials was conducted on Earth Day regarding the inclusion of WAF Awards 2016 in their international summit on sustainability and prosperity. The finalists will will have an opportunity to present their initiatives, which will be broadcasted globally. The winners not only receive a trophy for the best-practice initiative, but also WAFA’s support in global coverage, which will garner worldwide attention from corporations and organizations that can support, bolster, scale and replicate further expansion to reach more people in need.

WAFA honours all supporters and our patrons, Prem Rawat, founder of the Prem Rawat Foundation and Peace Education Program and HRH Princess Basma bint Ali of Jordan, founder of the Royal Botanic Garden in Jordan, and Professor Virginia Li, University of California, Los Angeles, USA, founder of School Sanitation Project and Tobacco Substitution Project (first in developing world) Yunnan Province, China.
