HOLLYWOOD (March 8) - Only days after they went on sale, tickets to the March 11 world premiere of TRANSITION, the play by Ray Richmond that is the first theatrical response to the new Trump era, have sold out.

At press time, some tickets are still up for grabs for the preview performances on Thursday and Friday, March 9 and 10, as well as 13 other weekend performances through April 9 at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood.

Recent eruptions from Donald Trump's Twitter account and other White House headlines have generated much interest in and attention to TRANSITION, an original theatrical extravaganza based on the November 10, 2016 Oval Office meeting between President Barack Obama and president-elect Donald Trump two days after Trump's surprise victory.

TRANSITION is a compelling drama with comedic elements woven throughout. It depicts a meeting that evolves into a chess match between a man who's spent years building a legacy, and an outsider moving in to tear it all down. The play touches on issues including immigration, gun control, health care, sexism and nuclear war.

TRANSITION stars Joshua Wolf Coleman as President Barack Obama and Harry S. Murphy as Donald Trump. It is directed by Lee Costello.

The 90-minute production is the first play by Richmond, a leading entertainment critic, columnist, reporter and blogger for publications including The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and the Los Angeles Times. He's also written four books.

Reached this week at the theatre, Richmond expressed great enthusiasm. " It's actually kicking some major a** in rehearsal," he said. "Our Trump and Obama are more convincing than the real guys!"

There will also be a special guest performance following the curtain call, what Richmond calls "a harmonious exclamation point to what came before."

TRANSITION will run for five weekends and 16 performances, March 11 through April 9 at the Lounge Theatre, 6201 Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood.

Friday & Saturday shows are at 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m.

Tickets are going fast for preview performances March 9 and 10.

Tickets are available at Plays411.com/Transition.

Two pairs each have been reserved for Presidents Trump and Obama.
