Whilst the Boomtown Rats were busy shooting 'Mondays' down, High school friends, Dan, Luke, Isaac and Josh decided to turn 'Mondays' around and shoot to the stars instead. Together they became creative and began writing and playing music, determined to push the boundaries of conventional indie pop to make music that is new and different from anything heard before.
With new comer Anupriya joining the scene, the now five piece 'The Mondays' just released single, 'Wasted Time', is packed full of raw talent and vigorous enthusiasm. Driven with passion on reaching lofty potentials, Perth based 'The Mondays' are well on their way to making hits happen.
Combining indie, funk and rock, Dan moves from guitar to keyboard to vocals in slipstream style engaging the audience with his gregarious, youthful enthusiasm. With one EP ‘Groove’ (2014) and one single out already, 'The Mondays' are quickly winning over audiences around the country, already receiving national radio play on Triple J Unearthed.
The band is often compared to ‘Ballpark Music’ with their rich harmonies and fast-paced, keyboard heavy rhythmic pieces. However, as the band evolves from their first EP ‘Groove’ (2014), ‘The Mondays’ creativity is becoming more a reflection of their influences, such as The Wombats, Matt Corby, The Roots and Justin Timberlake.
The Mondays will join a handpicked selection of unsigned Australian artists when their latest single ‘Wasted Time’ is featured on Lighthouse Records’ compilation album ‘Indie Legends’. The compilation will be released to time up with Splendour In The Grass in Byron Bay in July 2016 with 5000 copies being handed out on download cards to patrons of the festival, as well as the surrounding areas of Byron Bay. Digital copies will also be available from the Lighthouse Records website.

About The Mondays
In the beginning there was just a drummer, searching the swinging seas for other companions to fulfil his musical enlightenment. Upon this noble search, said drummer stumbled upon a classical classmate, along with a curly haired "skinny white boy" known as "The Sac" who would play the guitar like he obtained his women...smoothly.
Despite this, all fine fables must contain a hero riding a majestic stead. Hailing from his home continent of Africa was the rugged, powerful and alluring bass rider known across the isles as Josh. There is a myth from days long past, that this lone rider of the bass once smote the dragon of yonder alone with one slap of his bass axe, severing it's head completely from it's body- clean, with no string breakages. And finally last but not least, Anu The Sharma-rama Panorama, who's soothing voice was first recorded and heard on our recently released debut EP..."Groove". "
