The German indie developer Goodwolf Studio launched the Kickstarter Project for their next-gen text adventure “Code 7” on September 22nd. The first part of the game “Episode 0: Allocation”, which recently has been nominated for the gamescom Indie Award 2016, has been released as a free download for PC, Mac and Linux. Code 7 is a next-generation text adventure that combines a fully-voiced narrative with immersive hacking-gameplay. Gather information, navigate and hack your way through the prologue of an five-chapter adventure. The players have to escape an eerie space station in outer space, as the hacker Alex, who is trapped on said station together with Sam. The two were sent on an investigation mission and got separated. Their only hope is a computer interface that is connected to the network and that the players have to use to communicate with Sam, solve puzzles and hack into systems to obtain information. Episode 0 has a play-time of roughly an hour. The next Episode is aimed to be released in April 2017.

Code 7 started out as a one-week, rapid prototyping project at the Cologne Game Lab. After releasing the game for free in 2015, it received a lot of positive player feedback and two award nominations. So it was decided to turn Code 7 into a full game with six chapters.

Goodwolf Studio is an independent game developer committed to creating games where the gameplay enables the player to uncover a deeper story. Its founders and members, Kevin Glaap and Zein Okko, met each other at the Cologne Game Lab where they are both pursuing their Master's degrees in Game Development and Research. Narrative games like "Thomas Was Alone" or "Tales from the Borderlands" inspired them to create epic, story-driven projects, and they began developing games together in 2014.

The developers aim to raise 15.000€ to fund the upcoming 5 episodes of the game. More information can be found on the project page: ..
