London, 6th February 2018 - LivingPackets, the start-up who is shaking up the parcel delivery world in Europe, announces the release of its mobile app on both Google Play and Apple Store. Using travellers registered in its community, LivingPackets offers an international delivery service in just a few hours. It's an exclusive and environmentally friendly delivery service for businesses and individuals who have a need for truly same day and secure deliveries. The start-up has launched its service between London and Paris and plans to expand across Europe in the near future.

Secure and reliable deliveries: pioneering the 'Internet of Parcels'

LivingPackets has invented the LivingPacket, a secure, smart and reusable packet to track your parcel and ensure timely delivery. The smart packet offers one the safest solutions to send an item while lowering waste packaging and carbon footprint.

The LivingPacket features unique built-in technology, such as an internal camera, weight sensors, and magnetic lock, and is permanently connected to the mobile app. No one can add or remove anything from the LivingPacket once the magnetic lock is activated, therefore ensuring an unprecedented level of security for parcel deliveries. The personal details and IDs of senders, Voyagers and recipients are registered in the app, validated and checked at every step of the delivery. The details of the parcel (description, weight, size and photo) are logged during the booking process and are checked by both the Guardian -a local store near the train station who registered with the LivingPackets' community - and the Voyager, before departure and again upon arrival.

Each internal component generates data that is transmitted to the app in real-time. Unique features include:

- Detailed timeline of the delivery and estimated time of arrival;

- Weight and shock sensors;

- Internal camera with integrated flash allowing the sender to keep an eye on the item throughout the delivery;

- Push notifications for shocks, unauthorised packet openings and to track the delivery from start to finish;

- Alarm in case of unauthorised openings;

- All items are insured for a value up to €3,000. Items of higher value can be insured upon request.

How does it works?

The sender places an order via the app and then drops off the parcel at one of the LivingPackets' Guardian stores, or ask for a collection by courier.

No need to buy any packaging as the LivingPackets are kept at the Guardian's store and are reusable up to 500 times.

Once the security checks are completed, and under the supervision of the Guardian, the item to be sent is then placed inside the LivingPacket -available in 3 sizes: 2, 4, or 6 kilos- which is then closed, enabling the magnetic lock and integrated technology.

The next Voyager - a traveller registered on the mobile app and whose ID and personal details have been checked and verified - will be notified and will pick-up the LivingPacket on his way to the platform. He will take it on board with him to its destination for a share of the fee, therefore offsetting a part of his travel costs.

Profit off your travels by transporting a LivingPacket

There are 4.2 million visits from French travellers to the UK in 2016, and so a potential of 4.2 million individual couriers between London and Paris to transport time-critical parcels. Whether you are a frequent traveller or just travelling occasionally, it's free to register on the LivingPackets mobile app to become a Voyager and transport a LivingPacket. It's a very simple process. You just need to create a profile on the app, provide a proof of ID and your contact details (email, mobile phone and address).

Once registered and approved, the Voyager adds the details of his next trip before travelling and checks shortly before boarding if any LivingPacket is available to transport. No need to pre-arranged anything or meet with anyone, the LivingPackets are dropped off and collected from the Guardian store, enabling an automated and instant pick-up and drop-off system.

The Voyager offsets a part of his travel costs by earning up to €12 for each LivingPacket that he takes onboard with him, which represents a share of the delivery fee. He will then be able to track, manage and transfer his financial rewards via the app.

New functionalities of the LivingPacket are already under development and will be released in a near future, such as:

- Addition of internal temperature and humidity sensors - great for food and beverage deliveries;

- Possibility to chat with the Voyager via the mobile app, in real-time.
