iM Sports™ is dedicated to helping athletes improve performance and recover from injury. iM Sports sun protection and compression sleeves are worn by thousands of athletes to help improve blood flow, reduce soreness and protect their skin from harmful UV rays. Because they reduce skin surface temperature by up to 5 degrees and wick away sweat quite a few people with MS have taken to wearing iM Sports Sleeves to keep cool. “People are always finding new uses for our sleeves and this one really touches my heart because I lost a close friend to MS years ago. Pam and I were in the Marines together at Quantico. She was a great listener, an amazing artist and one of the strongest people I’ve ever met. MS took her early and I miss her dearly.” states Mo Nelson, the founder of iM Sports. “That is why we’ve decided to support the NMSS (National Multiple Sclerosis Society) by donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of our sleeves to fighting MS” continues Mo.
Multiple Sclerosis is a long lasting disease that can affect the brain, spinal cord as well as the optic nerve in your eyes. It can cause problems with vision, balance, muscle control and other bodily functions. MS occurs when your immune system attacks a fatty material called myelin, which wraps around your nerve fibers to protect them. Without this outer shell, your nerves become damaged. Scar tissue may form and the damaged nerves can cause your brain to have trouble communicating with your body. Over 2.5 million people around the world have MS with over 400,000 of them residing in the United States. 200 people are diagnosed with the disease every week in North America.
“iM Sports will continue to support causes we feel strongly about. Peace and Energy to you Pam!” continues Mo. iM Sports staff are also encouraged to volunteer on a regular basis because the company promotes giving back to the communities it serves. “We are extremely proud to help the NMSS fight Multiple Sclerosis,” concludes Mo.
