GLORY was recognised yesterday for its progressive approach to Environmental and Corporate Social Responsibility with an award for Sustainability Innovation at the 2017 Oracle Excellence Awards.

The award, which highlights how companies use technology to drive environmental sustainability, was presented to GLORY for demonstrating how its application of Oracle’s solutions improves eco-efficiency, innovation and transparency within the company.

GLORY completed the initial phase of global migration to an Oracle cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning solution earlier in the year which was a key factor in realising benefits both now and in future roll outs around the globe which include:

  • Reducing the company’s CO2 footprint by optimising inventory management for stock shipments and driving down power consumption in offices,
  • Lowering the amount of packaging material used through enhanced delivery management,
  • Increasing efficiency of field sales teams through better territory management, skills fit and route-mapping
  • Accelerating process speed and removal of costly legacy systems and hardware.

Receiving the award on behalf of Glory Global Solutions, Chief Financial Officer Michael Williams observed: ‘We care about the impact of our business on local communities and the wider environment. The commitment we have made to continually improve processes, assess and reduce our use of raw materials and decrease our CO2 footprint is an integral part of how we do business at GLORY. We’re proud to have been recognised by Oracle for our use of their technologies to support this commitment, which will ensure that customers, communities and the countries within which we operate all benefit from the difference we are making.’

“We are inspired by the important work and great success achieved by Oracle customers committed to a sustainable future,” said Jon Chorley, Chief Sustainability Officer and Group Vice President of Product Strategy, Oracle. “Glory Global Solutions implemented Oracle technologies in a way that improved business efficiencies, reduced costs, and ultimately supported their eco-transformation. We are honored to award Glory Global Solutions with a 2017 Oracle Sustainability Innovation Award.”

The Oracle Sustainability Innovation award is selected from a number of global nominations which are assessed on how Oracle products are used to support companies in their sustainability initiatives as well as assessing the impact on environmental benefits and associated cost savings.
