This month they are featuring the Sunoptics Surgical TITAN HD Headlight Camera.
The Sunoptics Surgical TITAN HD Headlight Camera with the new RCS headband provides the high-quality video needed for teaching and documenting surgical procedures. Its fused fiber optic cable increases light transmission. The camera is light weight, it weighs less than 1.2 ounces. The working distance of the camera is 30cm to 66cm. The camera provides surgical teams the capability of documenting surgery for training, and us in medical referrals and records.
The Sunoptics camera’s other special features include the brightest illumination, high definition of 1920 x 1080p, 60 frames per second, (2) DVI & 3G SDI video output. The Sunoptics Surgical Camera can also capture still images, start and stop recording via tablet, console or footpedal and download video and images via USB port on the front panel of the console.
Technology has become a great aid for surgical documentation. The developments in optical technology, storage and software, have led to the video becoming a practical tool that is used for daily surgery. Videos are known to be faster, easier and more informative than light handle cameras or still imaging. Leading hospitals around the world have been quick to adopt this new generation of imaging technology.
Recording the details of each case is easy. The surgeon interacts with the system through a set of touch screen controls on front panel of the console or via a tablet. The controls are used to enter the patient and hospital information, procedure and surgeon details. The touch screen also has control functions such as “record video”, “stop recording video”, record a still picture, playback, and “print stills”. Additionally there are icons that are used for various administrative functions and for downloading video to an external storage media such as USB memory stick or USB hard drive.
Specifications of the camera include 1/3” CMOS single chip, 1080p 60fps native video and focus 12” to 26”. Stills can be captured in 1080p – BPM, JPEG, PNG, videos are captured in 1080p – H.264 Encoding, .mp4. The hard drive capacity is 256GB solid state drive which gives approx. 70 hours of video. It has a dual channel which can record two video signals simultaneously and export images via USB, network, or wireless.
