YWCA of Metropolitan Dallas Switches to MPower To Take CRM and Fundraising to Next Level

The YWCA has been using a proprietary (or closed) donor management database

system for many years but now is making the move to MPower's open source constituent relationship management (CRM) solution to have greater flexibility and control over its technology - key for cultivating strong relationships with supporters and driving participation, especially giving.

Used by hundreds of charitable organizations around the world (including some of the most sophisticated direct marketers), MPower is the only mature and full feature, open source CRM software solution specifically designed for nonprofits. MPower is available without licensing fees and users have access to the source code so they can modify the solution, integrate it with their other mission-critical software and develop new features and functionality.

With the mission of empowering women, the YWCA focuses primarily on helping women move from poverty to self-sufficiency. The organization is planning for aggressive growth in coming years so it needs a CRM solution that is flexible and can expand to keep pace. The YWCA will use MPower, which has one of the most robust segmentation engines available today, to better identify donors for more targeted and higher impact direct mailings. The group plans to integrate its MPower system with: 1) Sage MIP Fund Accounting, a leading nonprofit financial management solution from Sage Software; and 2) email and Web site content management tools. Additionally, the YWCA is planning to launch several special events and possibly an endowment, all of which can be more effectively managed with MPower.
