Young players left out of Chile's Copa America squad

SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) - Chile coach Nelson Acosta picked 25 players for the Copa America, leaving out striker Alexis Sanchez and defender Arturo Vidal.
Acosta said Sanchez and Vidal will instead be allowed play at the under-20 World Cup in Canada.
«I know my job is at stake in Copa America, but I put Chile's interests ahead,»

Acosta said. «Chile has a chance of winning a world title.
Both Alexis, 18, and Vidal, 19, are expected to move to Europe after the U20 tournament. Alexis has been transferred to Udinese and Vidal to Bayer Leverkusen.
Also out of the 25-man squad, which will be reduced to 22 before the Copa America starts June 26, was Lazio midfielder Luis Jimenez. Local media has reported alleged problems between Jimenez and his wife, a well known local model.
The one new face in the squad was goalkeeper Fernando Hurtado of Cobreloa. Returning to the team was midfielder Rodrigo Tello of Sporting.
