www.xjtag.com - XJTAG (www.xjtag.com), a leading global supplier of IEEE 1149.x JTAG-compliant boundary scan development systems, has appointed FlowCAD (www.flowcad.de) as its distributor for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The EDA specialist is especially well-positioned to sell into and support its extensive customer base in these markets. The company was founded by former employees of Cadence Design Systems in Munich.

FlowCAD will be selling the XJTAG system into its established base of electronic design customers across a wide range of industries.

A cost-effective solution for the entire product lifecycle, the XJTAG development system is used worldwide by designer engineers, developers and OEMs for debugging, testing and programming printed circuit boards (PCBs) and systems. Providing extensive test coverage and

re-useable, re-configurable test scripts, it greatly reduces the cost and time-to-market of board and system development.

Simon Payne, XJTAG's CEO: "FlowCAD's outstanding reputation and profound market know-how in the German-speaking EDA community will open the door for us to demonstrate the many benefits to designers and developers of our highly-integrated suite of test and development solutions. I fully expect ours to be a successful and long-lasting partnership."

Dirk Mueller, founder and CEO of FlowCAD, also commented on the new appointment: "XJTAG addresses the demand from our Central European customer base to implement a test strategy during the design phase. We feel that XJTAG is offering a new and modern approach to boundary scan technology."

"With ever shorter windows of opportunity to bring a product to market, PCB designers have to design in quality and testability in their CAD flow. FlowCAD focuses on a complete PCB design flow based on software tools from leading vendors. XJTAG is a perfect fit for the design requirements of today and the future," continued Mueller.

The XJTAG development system enables engineers to test both JTAG and non-JTAG/cluster devices in the circuit including BGA and chip scale packages such as SDRAMs, Ethernet controllers, video interfaces, Flash memories, FPGAs and microprocessors.
