WRVS celebrating UK Older People's day on 1 Oct WRVS will be celebrating UK Older People's Day on 1 October 2008. Under the ‘Full of Life' banner the day aims to tackle outdated stereotypes on ageing and bring people of all ages together.
WRVS is proud to support this day. All the services we provide and by encouraging volunteering, WRVS aims to help older people get more out of life
and keep in touch with their communities.
To mark the event WRVS' Isabel Blackman Centre in Hastings will be hosting an Older People's Day celebration this coming Saturday 4 October. Visitors will be entertained by a street party, traditional Nepalese, Bengali, Russian, British, Iranian, Thai and African performances and there will be the opportunity to sample food from around the world. There will also be a story time session where older people will recount stories from their childhood to younger visitors.
