GALWAY, IRELAND -- (Marketwire) -- 07/07/10 -- Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland) --The last turbine has been installed at the 300-megawatt Thanet windfarm :
, located 12 kilometres off the coast of Kent in England. The facility will be the world's largest offshore windfarm. The installation of the 100th turbine means that the windfarm will be completed by the end of the summer, when it will be capable of supplying electricity to up to 240,000 homes. The facility is owned by Swedish energy giant Vattenfall AB :
(Stockholm, Sweden), which acquired the project in November 2008.
