WMS Gaming Inc., a subsidiary of WMS Industries Inc. (NYSE:WMS), today announced that it was awarded the 2009 Gaming Industry Product Interoperability Award by Gaming & Leisure Magazine. WMS is the first recipient of the award, which honors WMS’ commitment to full industry interoperability as embodied by its WAGE-NET® networked gaming system.

First introduced in 2006, WMS’ WAGE-NET networked gaming solution is a suite of platform technologies and system applications that are based on open architecture using industry standard communication protocols developed by the Gaming Standards Association and that are designed to be fully interoperable with other similarly developed systems. Mark Pace, VP of Networked Gaming Engineering and Operations of WMS, accepted the award on behalf of the Company at a

reception held yesterday, in connection with the Gaming & Leisure Roundtable event held as part of the industry’s Global Gaming Exposition (G2E®) in Las Vegas.

Brian R. Gamache, chairman and chief executive officer of WMS, commented, “We are honored to be recognized by industry leaders for our commitment to, and development of, a fully interoperable solution for networked gaming, particularly at a time when networked gaming is becoming a reality. Over the last three years, WMS has been a strong advocate for the development of ‘Open Standards’ for the gaming industry, as we believe full and true interoperability will be a key driver in establishing new products, applications and systems that will provide clear benefits to casino operators and their customers.”

The inaugural Gaming Industry Product Interoperability Award recognizes the gaming industry product that best exemplifies the highest standard of system and product interoperability on the casino floor. Nominations were judged by the Gaming & Leisure Community’s Advisory Board, which is comprised of thought leaders from across the industry.

Gamache added, “WAGE-NET reflects our unyielding commitment to product interoperability and the pursuit of our vision to provide a full suite of networked gaming solutions that enable enhanced player experiences and casino enterprise enhancing technologies based on open architecture. WMS’ commitment is also reflected in the interoperability of our games with the networked gaming system at the soon-to-be-opened ARIA Resort & Casino at MGM’s CityCenter resort. We continue to actively advance our product development plan and evolution of WAGE-NET with applications that are designed to interoperate with other open architecture-based systems. Our progress is highlighted in our G2E 2009 debut of our Portal applications, which create new dynamic entertainment options that we believe will drive increased revenue opportunities for casino operators. Additionally, we will be demonstrating the newest innovations for our Account Based Wagering and Patron Services (GamEdge™) platforms for the WAGE-NET system.”
