WiTricity Opens Second Office in Utah and Brings Onboard New Management and Technical Team Members Strategic Growth Will Enable Further Development of Wireless Power Systems in Multiple Business Areas

WATERTOWN, MA and NIBLEY, UT -- (Marketwire) -- 02/26/13 -- WiTricity : , the industry pioneer in highly resonant wireless power transfer over distance, announced today that the company is expanding to include a second location in Utah to fuel product development across a range of industries. The new office, located in Nibley (near Logan), will serve as a hub for WiTricity development of wireless power systems in the defense, industrial and transportation sectors through the technical expertise of several team members formerly with the Energy Dynamics Laboratory (EDL) at the Utah State University Research Foundation (USURF).

The Utah-based WiTricity team will include Director of Business Development Jeff Muhs, who brings 25 years of experience in energy- and defense-related R&D, government relations, business development and technology management. As a Utah Science Technology and Research (USTAR) strategic hire and Director of EDL during its era of rapid growth, Muhs was responsible for incubating EDL's wireless power transfer R&D program.

In addition, the team will draw on technical leadership from Ky Sealy, who will serve as principal engineer in Utah, and Aaron Gilchrist, the project lead and manager for R&D projects at the Utah facility. Sealy and Gilchrist each bring over 10 years of senior engineering and project management experience to their new roles and were central figures in the development of EDL's high-power wireless charging prototypes.
