2008-11-03 20:23:45 - Lawyers are spending millions to promote their services and attract clients. Their major focus for attracting business is the worldwide web.

Personal injury suits; libel suits; sex discrimination suits; medical and legal malpractice suits; suits over contracts, defective products, poor service- You name it!

Litigation is a global industry measured in the billions of dollars per year. There are over a million lawyers in the United States alone, according to the American Bar Association, and they're all scrambling to make a living.

Lawyers

are easily the most aggressive new-business marketers of all professionals. You can't watch 30 minutes of TV without seeing an ad for their services. 'Got a disease? We can get you money!' 'Been in an accident? You should sue!' 'Been turned down by an insurance company? You've got rights!' 'Being pursued by the IRS? We'll defend you!'

In 2002, lawyers spent over $300 million on TV advertising. In just the first six months of 2008, according to the Television Bureau of Advertising, law firms had already spent $296 million (including print). The firms of Robert Goldwater, James Sokolove, and Morgan & Morgan were the top three early ‘08 spenders, at $10, $8 and $7 million respectively.

In the last few years, law firms, like all other businesses, have discovered the Internet as well. They use the web to troll for clients, employing paid advertising, like banner ads and Google search page ads; issuing press releases; and building websites.

Lawyer-sponsored websites range from the embarrassingly obvious to the deviously subtle.

Some websites function as collection bins for large numbers of citizens eager to sue or desperate for legal advice. These sites, like www.lawyers.com, www.toplawyersofamerica.com and www.findlaw.com, steer individuals to specific lawyers or law firms, usually based on responses to simple questions about location or subject matter. While some lawyer referral sites are run by non-profit groups, most site operators are paid by lawyers for each referral sent their way. (Earlier this year a Boston law firm was offering $1,500 for every mesothelioma - asbestos-related cancer - lead generated through third-party ads.)

WebTalkerPR, an Internet marketing firm, offers a number of lawyer marketing web domains (addresses) for sale, including www.WhoCanWeSue.com and www.ISue.com, which are ideal for use as nation-wide referral sites.

Other available domains, which reflect popular legal issues, include:

www.CalDWILawyer.com
www.NeverPayASpeedingTicket.com
www.QuickeeDivorce.com
www.TexasSelfDefenseLawyer.com
www.ArizonaSelfDefenseLawyer.com
www.LawyerForPets.com

'The public searches the web hundreds of thousands of times a day for legal assistance,' says WebTalkerPR's Bill Edwards. 'Providing consumers with an easy-to-remember web address that's keyed to a specific popular legal issue (like DWI, speeding and divorce) is critical to attracting new clients. Smart lawyers build attractive websites at these addresses and turn them into magnets for new business.'

To purchase www.WhoCanWeSue.com, www.ISue.com or any of the 'available' domains listed above, submit an offer at the desired address.
