2013-10-26 08:36:01 - Based on a pair of strong trends from recent years, the sports handicapping website Vegas Experts foresees high scoring in the Western Kentucky-Troy matchup
The Sun Belt Conference matchup pitting the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers against the Troy Trojans displays two key trends that should allow for plenty of scoring in the contest, according to the sports handicapping website Vegas Experts.
The website looked at Western Kentucky’s history as a home favorite, since the team is currently listed as a 10-point favorite over Troy, with a total of 61.5. Its findings were that since the Hilltoppers have become a fixture when it comes to Las Vegas betting lines, dating back to the 2008 season, the team has played 12 games as a home favorite. In nine of those games, the contest finished above the listed total.
Vegas Experts also explored the past recent sports handicapping past of
Troy, and found an even stronger wagering component that leans to the over in this contest. Since 2007, the Trojans have taken part in 23 games when in the role of a road underdog. In 18 of those matchups, the game went past the total established by oddsmakers.
The trend toward the over is even more dominating when inserting the parameters of this upcoming contest. In 16 games as a double-digit underdog, Troy has gone over 15 times.
In the one game involving both of Western Kentucky and the Trojans under these circumstances, the Hilltoppers not only won the game by a 41-18 score, but also went past the 51 total in the November 26, 2011 matchup.
