TAMPA, Fla. (Jan. 16, 2013) - WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG) today
announced that Brian Luidhardt has been named vice president of claims
operations. He will provide leadership and oversight for claims processing,
enterprise intake/mail services, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations,
claims delegation oversight, claims training and the WellCare Claims Command
Center.

"Brian's more than 17 years of health care experience will help support our
efforts to provide quality, cost-effective health care solutions," said Walt
Cooper, WellCare's chief administrative officer. "I am confident that his
extensive claims operations knowledge will help to enhance our value to
government customers, members and providers."

Before joining WellCare, Luidhardt served as vice president of Claims Operations
at Amerigroup Corporation. Previously, Luidhardt was director of Operations for
UnitedHealth Group's Uniprise Group Services. Earlier in his career, he   managed
claims services for Cigna HealthCare.
