- Attention all guitarists: If you love shredding, and want to win $10,000 in cash and prizes, Guitar World's online contest "Shred The Web" has your name and licks all over it! tabs.guitarworld.com/shredtheweb/musicians-institute/

The famed guitar magazine is looking for the top guitar shredder on the web. All you have to do to enter is

upload a video of yourself shredding your best to Guitar World tabs. Available featured shreds include Van Halen's "Unchained," Led Zeppelin's "Good Times, Bad Times," Radiohead's "Creep," The Beatles' "Day Tripper," Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb," Nickelback's "Rock Star" and Elvis Presley's "Heartbreak Hotel."

Musicians Institute (www.mi.edu), one of the contest's proud sponsors, is offering as part of the grand prize private lessons from MI guitar instructor Greg Harrison, who offers some dynamic tips on shredding on the Guitar World web page (tabs.guitarworld.com/shredtheweb/musicians-institute/).

In addition, the top three vote getters will win great prizes from Guitar Center, Live Nation, BC Rich, Randall, Dunlop and Snap Jack.

Since opening its doors in 1977, Musicians Institute has primed over 20,000 musicians, producers, engineers, vocalists and industry professionals for successful careers in every genre of contemporary music. Located just blocks from the Capitol Records tower, MI has an incredible history of innovation dating back to its origins in 1977 as the Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT), which broke new ground as a performance-based contemporary music school taught by working professionals. Within a few years, GIT was joined by bass and drum programs to form Musicians Institute and the evolution has continued to this day with degree and certificate programs for career-minded guitarists, bassists, drummers, vocalists, keyboardists, recording engineers, independent producers, guitar makers, music business professionals and filmmakers.
