2013-03-20 15:57:47 - A South London decorating centre has helped a group of young people develop a new set of skills for a brighter future.

The Wandsworth Crown Decorating Centre has donated a colourful selection of woodcare products to students on the Prince’s Trust Programme at Lambeth College, to renovate a fence at Sir James Barrie Primary School in Battersea.
Located on Merton Road, the decorating centre provided products from the premium woodcare range Sadolin, to help keep the fence protected from harsh weather as well as bringing playful designs to life, with the inclusion of cartoon animals, letters and flowers, all hand painted by the students over a period of four days.
As well as providing the Sadolin products, the Crown Decorating Centre’s staff also gave students useful tips on how to prepare the fence before painting, to achieve the best results from the products.

Julia Loftus, manager at the Wandsworth Crown Decorating Centre, said: “To be able to help with a local project like this is very special for us.
“Working with the community is really important and the work done by the Lambeth College students is fantastic.”
Louise McNestrie, Prince’s Trust Team Leader at Lambeth College, said “We’ve been working over the past few weeks to look at creative ways of updating the school’s playground fence and the results are amazing, a real explosion of colour to brighten up the children’s play area.”
The Wandsworth Crown Decorating Centre is open from 7.am - 5pm on weekdays and 8am – 12pm Saturdays. It is also open 8am – 2pm on bank holidays.
