Gay folk singer RUFUS WAINWRIGHT feared he had contracted HIV when he was raped as a teenager.
The singer/songwriter was attacked by a man he picked up in a bar in London's Hyde Park at the age of 14. He claims he survived the ordeal by pretending to have an epileptic fit.
And the 33-year-old was convinced he picked up the deadly virus.
He says, "I was pretty much convinced I was HIV positive. Every zit was Kaposi's sarcoma. If I got a sore throat I had a year to live. I never got tested. But I didn't get aids, which I might have otherwise, and I did end up writing songs."
