2014-03-26 15:26:08 - U.S. Government's National Acquisition Center awards Vantage Mobility International the FSS contract which expedites the process to secure mobility transportation for disabled U.S. military veterans.
PHOENIX, Ariz. – March 26, 2014 –Vantage Mobility International (VMI), a leader in the manufacture and distribution of wheelchair accessible vehicles, announced today the company is the first and only wheelchair accessible vehicle manufacturer to be awarded a Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract (Contract# V797D-30232) by the US Government’s National Acquisition Center. The FSS contract expedites the process to secure mobility transportation for disabled U.S. military veterans.
“The FSS contract supports VMI’s mission to help veterans secure the highest quality mobility conversions at the best value to our government,” said Jeff Weston, vice president of sales and business development at VMI. “More importantly, it will streamline the process which will help the VA reduce the backlog of veterans seeking quality
mobility van conversions. Through our extensive national dealer network American veterans can find the perfect VMI conversion vehicle in or near their immediate location.”
With more than $10 billion in sales, the Federal Supply Schedule supports the healthcare requirements of the VA and other federal government agencies by providing access to over 8,000 products. VMI’s FSS contract supports Non-Service Connected veterans and provides easy access to VMI’s lowered floor minivan conversions for those who qualify.
“VMI is committed to supporting disabled American veterans, our wounded warriors and their families,” said Lieutenant General John F. Regni, USAF retired. “This new FSS contract is just one way VMI is helping the US Department of Veterans Affairs take care of our armed services personnel.”
VMI’s patented Northstar and Summit ramp lift system lowered-floor minivan conversions are available through the company’s national dealer network and available on the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country, Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey. Details about each VMI ramp system / wheelchair conversion can be found at www.vantagemobility.com/wheelchair-vans
“Twenty-five percent of our customers are military veterans,” said Weston. “We want to do everything possible to help these deserving men and women regain their independence. Our FSS contract will help accomplish that by providing overworked VA staff with a simple solution for acquiring a lowered floor ramp lift system for veterans. It also supports the best network in the mobility industry by directing customers to highly qualified dealers and technicians who support the sales, and after-sale needs of the veteran. I’m confident VMI’s FSS contract will create a more efficient process for both VA staff and veterans.”
