Vision Logistics, the leading provider of expedited freight services to the U.S. energy production industry, today announced that the company"s Board of Directors appointed Thomas D. Perdue to serve as the company"s Chief Executive Officer.
Tom Perdue, an experienced logistics executive, has demonstrated successes with NYK Logistics where he served as Chief Operating Officer since 2004. Tom has also held senior management positions at industry leaders C.H. Robinson, the Burlington Northern Railways, and Consolidated Rail Corporation. In addition, Tom has served on the board of directors of the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA), and is a past member of the American Trucking Associations" Executive Policy Committee.
"Given the breadth and depth of his experience in
the logistics industry, we believe that Tom will provide strong leadership to Vision at a time of rapid growth and opportunity," said Sanjay Swani, General Partner of Welsh Carson, Anderson & Stowe ("WCAS"). WCAS is the majority shareholder in Vision. The Company also elected former Colorado Governor Bill Owens to the Board of Directors. While Governor, he was called "best governor in America" by National Review and in 2002 was re-elected with the greatest majority in Colorado history. In addition to his public service, Governor Owens served for more than 10 years as Executive Director of the Colorado Petroleum Association, which represented 400 energy firms doing business in the Rockies.
