White Plains, NY - Visceral Media, LLC President, Lidj Lewis, has been named 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Westchester/Greater Connecticut chapter of the National Black MBA Association (WGC). Lewis and other corporate and community leaders were recognized at the WGC’s 4th Annual Scholarship Awards Gala, Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Westchester Marriott, 670 White Plains Road in Tarrytown, NY.
Susan L. Taylor, Editor Emerita of Essence magazine and founder of National Cares Mentoring, delivered the keynote address.
The Entrepreneur of the Year award is presented to a minority-owned business leader who has demonstrated a commitment to supplier development
and has fostered relationships with the NBMBAA, the local community and with corporations. The award honors a leader who has inspired others with his or her vision, leadership, and achievement.
“I am truly honored to receive this award,” said Lewis. “The WGC does outstanding work in the community through its various social and professional development programs, and I am exceedingly proud to be a part of that.”
Lewis joined the WGC in 2007, and served two years as the Chapter’s Vice President of Communications. During his tenure, he enhanced the WGC’s internal and external communications practices; standardized the WGC brand across all media; revamped the quarterly MBA Insider newsletter; generated regional news coverage for major Chapter events, activities, and initiatives; and created new video applications for promotional purposes. He continues to support the mission of the Chapter by volunteering his time in a number of other activities.
Lewis launched Visceral Media, a White Plains, NY-based public relations services firm, in 2006.
