Staff, volunteers and children welcomed visitors from the Variety, the Children’s Charity and their UK charity partner Veolia, to the Dingley Centre in Wokingham, to see for themselves what a difference their funding means. Following a successful application for funding, Dingley now has a fantastic new standing frame – which means that children like Gabriela can be more independent and join in activities with her peers. The remainder of the £1,800 grant was used to buy lots of new sensory toys to be enjoyed by all the children.
On hearing the good news about this funding help Arti Divatia, Dingley Centre Manager said: “It was fantastic that Variety the children’s charity and Veolia came in to see what a difference the
money they gave towards the sensory toys and the Leckey Pronestander has made to our children. We would like to say a big thank you for all this support
Veolia’s Katherine Packham commented “Meeting Gabriela, and knowing that she now has the opportunity to join in activities with her friends and become more independent has been a fantastic and truly rewarding experience “The team at Dingley does a brilliant job and we are very happy that we were able to help Gabriela and the other children with our contribution”
Colleen Ettridge from Variety said “Variety is delighted that our wonderful partnership with Veolia is delivering such wonderful items of equipment such as the Pronestander and various sensory toys, to the Dingley Centre, which will vastly improve the life of Gabriela and other children
Throughout the year, staff across Veolia in the UK, which also includes ELGA Process Water and ELGA LabWater, have been raising money for Variety by holding raffles, car boot sales and themed events as well as taking part in challenge activities such as Ironman Triathlon, skydives and runs. Variety’s Major Accounts Manager, Colleen Ettridge, is delighted with the result: ‘Variety is very grateful for the support it receives from its partnership with Veolia Water UK. The funds raised are helping to make a big impact on the wellbeing of children like Gabriela and the Dingley centre, who, with our help, can lead more fulfilling lives
