2010-03-15 00:10:29 - Thank you, Roy Chaderton Matos for plain common sense! ...Venezuela's Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS) has stated a home truth.

VHeadline News Editor Patrick J. O'Donoghue opines:

There's no need to jump for joy over declarations emanating from the US Southern Command chief, Douglas Fraser ... that was my first reaction on seeing the US commander's declarations highlighted in all the official news sites.

Venezuelanalysis fell for it ... running the story as its main news item opposite a hard-hitting article by 'Correo del Orinoco in English' editor-in-chief, Eva Golinger titled: "Aggression, War on the horizon in Latin America."

Fraser stated that he had no evidence of connections between Venezuela and ETA (Basque) and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).

Ambassador Chaderton's reason for urging caution is quite simple. In a week or two, Fraser or some other military officer will come

out with headline-stealing declarations claiming classified information about ETA or FARC having direct meetings with Chavez or top government officials.

Like myself, the Ambassador must have thought what the hell is going on in MinCI.
Why splash Fraser's declaration across pro-government websites and newspapers as though Fraser was endorsing President Chavez?

Analyze Fraser's declaration, by all means, but do not use it as confirmation that the serious accusations launched by a Spanish judge, Congress and government -- a holy trinity banded and bonded together to wreak vengeance on those fighting for Basque independence -- were completely unfounded.

Government media colleagues preferred to ignore history, blowing Fraser's statements out of proportion.

Thank God that somebody high up had the guts to object to the ideological lapse and put Fraser and the US military in context.

The United States of America wants to get rid of Chavez and the Bolivarian Revolution because it threatens their hegemony ... something that veteran historian Domingo Alberto Rangel makes light of.

The Colombians and Spaniards are helping the United States achieve its aims; but they have their own national agenda of repression.

Thank you Roy Chaderton Matos!

Media chiefs take note and rectify!
