- Newsmaker Group Lynn Schwartz, 973-736-7118 lschwartz@newsmakergroup.com Rave Wireless, Inc. (ravewireless.com) today announced the University of Connecticut (UConn) selected Rave Alert as its emergency notification platform after conducting an extensive evaluation and comparison of vendors. Concerns about the performance and reliability of its previous emergency notification provider prompted UConn to conduct the competitive evaluation. Rave Alert enhances campus safety by

providing an easy and effective way to send emergency notification and other important announcements via text messages, email, RSS feeds, recorded voice messages, and other methods such as digital signage and instant messaging. The messages can be created and sent from one easy-to-use web console, with complete reporting on message delivery and performance.

In a test of the Rave Alert campus safety system at UConn, a broadcast text message was sent to more than 16,500 recipients whose mobile phone numbers had been opted in and bulk uploaded into the system. A target benchmark was established for 95% of recipients to receive the message within 15 minutes. Actual test results exceeded both the benchmarks and the expectations of UConn administrators.

Rave Wireless is a market leader in providing mobile safety applications for campus safety to higher education, with a long list of college and university clients nationwide including American University, Colorado State University, Duke University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Indiana State University, Quinnipiac University, University of Kansas, University of Louisville, University of South Florida, and many more. Many institutions have recently switched to the company's Rave Alert emergency notification system for its superior performance and reliability, while others institutions such as the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have recently launched the Rave Guardian personal mobile alarm system on campus.
