Greenwood Village, Colo. - January 10, 2013 - The University of California,
Santa Barbara is improving strategic and operational effectiveness with
implementation of Oracle's PeopleSoft Financials. Campus officials chose Ciber
as their implementation partner and, under a separate request for proposal, as
the campus' managed services provider of infrastructure, application management
and functional support for the new software.
UCSB elected to deploy Oracle's PeopleSoft Financials after an extensive needs
assessment and review of multiple systems. Additionally, since the UC Office of
the President chose Oracle's PeopleSoft Human Capital Management as its new
human resources and payroll system for all UC locations, the implementation of
Oracle's PeopleSoft Financials allows UCSB to share best practices and leverage
synergies between these solutions. Oracle's PeopleSoft
Financials already
operates at three other UC campuses, and implementing a system installed within
the UC system meets the needs of the UC Regents' resolution regarding
administrative efficiencies.
"Oracle's PeopleSoft applications are designed to address the most complex
business requirements. They provide comprehensive business and industry
solutions, enabling organizations to increase productivity, accelerate business
performance and lower total cost of ownership," said Paco Aubrejuan, senior vice
president and general manager, Oracle's PeopleSoft applications. "Ciber is a
member in Oracle PartnerNetwork and has a long-standing record of successful
implementations and on-going support."
"UCSB can see huge gains in operational efficiency with this investment in
Oracle's PeopleSoft applications," said Mike Dillon, Ciber's vice president and
Oracle practice leader. "Users can gain enhanced reporting capabilities for
informed decision making, as well as process improvements that could free up
funds for UCSB's educational, research and public services missions."
The Financial System Implementation Project will feature a two-phase, two-year
implementation plan. Phase one covers general ledger, budgeting, purchasing,
accounts payable and asset management. These core functionalities, which
dramatically improve the stability and efficiency of the campus financial
solution, also will allow UCSB to decommission their current mainframe-based
solution. Phase two of the implementation adds functionality for accounts
receivable, grants, contracts, billing and project management.
A Platinum level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), Ciber has helped more
than 1,000 clients in more than 2,000 separate engagements leverage their Oracle
applications to improve business processes, reduce costs and provide support for
management decision-making. In the higher education market, Ciber has
implemented applications at more than 175 institutions in the United States and
Canada.
