LONDON (AP) - A union says thousands of London subway workers will stage a 48-hour strike over pay, likely causing travel headaches for millions of commuters and visitors.
The Rail, Maritime and Transport union says the walk out will begin at 7 p.m. (1800 GMT) Tuesday and last until 7 p.m. (1800 GMT) Thursday.
London Mayor Boris Johnson says he is rolling out extra buses, a taxi-sharing plan and offering free access to the city's riverboats in an effort to help harried Londoners get to work.
