Reference is made to a press release from Uniol AS dated 22 November
2009 concerning shutdown of operations as well as the recent media
reports relating to potential introduction of tax on biodiesel.
Cermaq has a direct ownership of 12.9 percent in Uniol. In addition
Cermaq's subsidiary Norgrain AS, of which Cermaq holds 72.5 percent,
holds 27.1 percent of the shares in Uniol. Book value of Cermaq
Group's total engagement in Uniol is NOK 85 million.
The engagement in Uniol is not part of Cermaq's core business, and
any discontinuation of Uniol's activity will not have any cash effect
for the Cermaq Group.
Cermaq will consider any accounting effects of its investment when
the outcome of Uniol's situation is clarified.
