Pleasant Grove, Utah--8-16-08--The Writer's Studio of Utah has begun registration for a 4 week intensive course of study in successful freelance writing. The 4 week course begins September 16, 2008 and will be presented by professional freelance features writer and Writer's Studio founder Randy Jernigan.

The course will cover such topics as how to generate saleable ideas, an overview of

the magazine/newspaper market, how to write great query letters, effective ways to make contact with editors, understanding contracts, managing the business side of writing, plus much more. This course will focus on the marketing of non-fiction as well as fiction magazine and newspaper articles.

Randy Jernigan is a 20 year veteran freelance journalist, features writer, and fiction writer. His work has appeared in such magazines as People, In Touch Weekly, Life and Style Weekly, The Star Magazine, USA Today, London's Daily Mail, etc. He has also scripted for television news magazines such as 20/20, Extra, and Dateline. Randy is the author of the short fiction collection titled "This Thing Called Love: ACollection of Love Stories To Gladden the Heart and Warm the Soul," and the forthcoming "Marie Osmond: An Unauthorized Biography."

The 4 week workshop course will be held at the Pleasant Springs Apartments club house at 884 W. 700 S. in Pleasant Grove. Classes begin September 16, 2008 and cost for the course is $235.00.
