Two More Serious Criminals "Wanted by the CBSA" Removed from Canada

OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/14/12 -- The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) today announced the removals of Ian Getfield and Steven Mark Nairn, who were featured on the "Wanted by the CBSA" list. Getfield was removed from Canada on February 10, 2012 and Nairn was removed from Canada on February 14, 2012.

Getfield is the 12th individual from the "Wanted by the CBSA" list to be removed. He was apprehended by the Toronto Police Service on January 31, 2012, in the Greater Toronto Area. Getfield is inadmissible for serious criminality. He has been convicted of possession of narcotics, two counts of failure to comply with release conditions, trafficking in a narcotic, theft under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault, failure to attend court and two counts of obstructing a peace officer in Canada.
Nairn is the 13th individual from the "Wanted by the CBSA" list to be removed. He was apprehended by CBSA inland enforcement officers on January 20, 2012, without incident in Surrey, British Columbia, following tips from the Canadian public. Nairn is inadmissible to Canada for serious criminality. He has been convicted of unlawful possession of cocaine and heroin along with five counts of robbery in Canada.
To date, as a result of the "Wanted by the CBSA" program, Canadians have assisted in locating 20 individuals in Canada and four individuals abroad. As of today, the CBSA has removed 13 of these individuals from Canada.
Members of the public are reminded that they should not take action to apprehend the individuals listed on the CBSA Web site. Any information on the whereabouts of these wanted individuals should be reported to the CBSA Border Watch Toll-free Line at 1-888-502-9060.
