Recognition (J'Rod and Rico) is a talented duo of up and coming R&B heartthrobs, who was raised in the small town of Magee, Mississippi (approximately 44.8 miles from Jackson, MS). Growing up, the twosome seemed to possess a certain level of talent and charisma that made them the center of attention everywhere they went.

As a result, J' Rod and

Rico started crafting their own material with the hopes of releasing it nationally to the masses. Now equipped with a mixture of R&B, Hip-Hop and Soul, the Mississippi natives are looking to bring forth their own signature sound, in which they've christened as 'Edge Muzik' to the forefront of the Billboard Charts.

At the present moment, Recognition is currently wrapping up the finishing touches on their debut album. They're signed to Otis Thompson's indie label, Heavy Records. The label is currently servicing their newly released single, 'Hand Against the Wheel' featuring Tha Joker to all radio and media outlets around the country while simultaneously seeking adds in multiple markets. 'I signed Recognition because of their work ethic and phenomenal talent. We look forward seeing them set a new precedent in R&B music. The future looks very promising for Recognition, with super stardom on the horizon. Rico and J'Rod weighs in, 'Everything is really happening fast and we've sacrificed a lot to follow our dreams. The thing that inspires us to do what we do, is the smiles we put on our fan's faces, the respect we have for the music and the financial stability to help our family. Our goal is to become legends. We're gonna transcend the current state of R&B music to the next level.'

For the past two years, Recognition has been on a non-stop promotional tour that involved them performing at various high schools and colleges throughout the country. Recognition also participated in several fundraiser programs to help raise money for Hurricane Katrina victims in the Gulf Coast region. In addition to community involvement, they also traveled to five cities and states with Russell Simmons and the Hip-Hop Summit. In 2006, they were awarded the 'Best Male Duo Vocalist Group' by their industry peers in the state of Mississippi.

Recognition have performed on select dates with the likes of Usher, Bow Wow, Keyshia Cole, Mario, Latoya Luckett, Bobby Valentino, K-Ci & JoJo, Young Joc, Lil' Boosie, and Weebie amongst a host of others. These dates included performances at the Dub Car Show in Houston, Texas and the Bonner Brother's Conventions in Atlanta, GA and Baltimore, MD.
