www.triwest.com - Acknowledging TriWest Healthcare Alliance's significant impact on Arizona's economy, the Business Journal of Phoenix ranked the company as the second largest privately held company in the state.

A list recognizing the state's top 50 private companies based on 2007 revenue was unveiled at the 14th annual Arizona Corporate Excellence (ACE) ceremony on September

4.

"TriWest is privileged to be among such extraordinary companies that are all making a huge impact on Arizona's economy," said TriWest President and CEO David McIntyre. "We thank the Business Journal for this recognition."

TriWest is currently operating under a five-year, $10 billion Department of Defense contract, making it the largest Arizona-based Department of Defense contractor in the state. It employs more than 1,000 people in Arizona and several 100 more throughout its 21-state West Region.

Additionally, TriWest has contributed to local communities by assisting thousands of military members and their families during challenging times. Some of the nearly 50 civilian and military organizations TriWest supports include the Phoenix Children's Hospital, Valley of the Sun United Way, Arizona National Guard Family Assistance Fund, Fighter Country Foundation, the Fort Huachuca Army Emergency Relief Fund and the Fresh Start Women's Foundation.

"Our goal is to provide assistance to service members and their families, whether it's helping them deal with combat stress or helping families cope with financial challenges," McIntyre said. "We also are giving back to communities where the majority of our employees live and work."

This is the fourth consecutive year Business Journal has ranked TriWest in the top three of largest privately held companies in the state. In 2004, TriWest ranked second and McIntyre was named CEO of the Year. Last year, the company ranked third.
