Print article Print article
2011-02-09 06:47:28 - Pop Up Displays have been in the trade show industry for over 25 years. It’s one of the most proven portable display systems available. There are many types of pop up’s and manufacturers of these portable booths.

When shopping for a pop up booth, use these helpful tips to help you make the best decision…

All pop up displays should be backed by a lifetime warranty on the hardware; frame and channel bars. No questions asked is the best policy – period.

Pop Up’s come with one or two case solutions, choose one case if you plan on shipping your exhibit to the convention hall, keeping the display together and saving on material handing charges per case. Choose two cases if you plan on transporting the display in a vehicle, distributing the total weight in half . Most pop up’s weight in the neighborhood of 100lbs.

All pop up’s have accessories, some more then others. Make sure to choose a pop up that fits your current future accessory needs. Accessories can include, shelving (exterior or built-in),

literature holders, Vegas approved lighting, monitor mounts, graphic mounts, podium conversation kits, back-lit graphics, headers, etc.

Graphic applications are vast with several printing and laminating techniques. To choose the best printing option to fit your frame, understand your budget and needs.

UV Print - Ultraviolet Print (AKA Direct Print)
Pros – cost effective, good quality print.
Con’s – un-protected as it doesn’t have a laminate finish over the top of the print.
Overall -good value for using graphics 1-3 times per year with rental solutions and economy frames.

Inkjet – Graphic panels are printed with large format printers with ink cartridges.
Pros – Vibrant print quality, great for solid colors in designs and illustrations.
Con’s – Does have a dot pattern, which can effect photo quality of output.
Overall – great value for durable graphics with premium frames; printed layer is laminated.

Lambda- Graphic panels are printed with laser machine, red, blue and green.
Pros – Continuous print, great for skin tones and photo’s, no dot patterns.
Con’s – Costly and loss of vibrancy with solid colors and illustrations.
Overall – great value for durable graphics matching premium frames.; printed layer is laminated.

Dye-Sublimation – Graphic printed on to a fabric material transfer via ink-jet print (can also be printed directly)
Pros – The most cost effect way to print large scale for pop up displays, one large image instead of cut panels.
Con’s – fit-n-finish appearance not perfect with equal horizontal and vertical tension.
Overall- fabric pop up’s are good value for the money

Now that you have your booth picked out, Graphic Design is important for connecting with your target audience. The #1 mistake that exhibitors make is saying too much. IMPORTANT - less said is more read on a pop up booth. Use 3 seconds as the platform to understand your message – that’s it!
