Toshiba and Best Buy Host Three Orange County e-Waste Recycling Events

This third-annual event, which provides Orange County residents with a

responsible method of disposing e-waste, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, and Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at Best Buy stores in Mission Viejo, Fullerton and East Orange.

During the event KRLA's Jeff Levy of the "Jeff Levy on Computers" show will make a live appearance at the East Orange Best Buy store on Friday between noon and 4 p.m. to answer all your computer questions. As an incentive for recyclers, Toshiba and Best Buy will also give a $5 Best Buy gift card to the first 100 cars to arrive each day.

-- Items Accepted for Recycling: Recyclers are invited to drop off their old computers, computer monitors, printers, camcorders, fax machines, cell phones, TVs, VCRs, DVD players and audio equipment.

-- Items Not Accepted for Recycling: Electronic waste not accepted during this event include large appliances, microwaves, smoke detectors, dehumidifiers, microwave ovens, batteries of any kind, smoke detectors, air conditioners and major household appliances.

-- Additional Recycling Incentives: In addition to the $5 Best Buy gift card to the first 100 cars each day. All recyclers will receive other giveaways such as BPA-free sports bottles, reusable canvas totes and a chance to win a Toshiba Portege R500. This ultraportable laptop PC represents the company's highest technological innovations and has earned a gold rating, the highest "green" ranking from the Green Electronic Council's assessment tool.
