Tieto is to deliver a new contribution system to The Local Government
Pensions Institution (Keva) by the end of 2012. The delivery entails
the construction of the contribution system from the definition phase
through to implementation.

Keva is responsible for providing and financing employee pensions for
local government officeholders and employees. Some 500,000 persons
are covered by the local government pension scheme, and pensions are
paid out to nearly 326,000 people. Keva's member organisations
include all Finnish cities, other municipalities and joint municipal
boards, and the majority of municipal associations and limited
liability companies. The contribution system is responsible for
calculating the pension contributions of Keva's member organisations.

"At Keva we have initiated several projects to reform our basic
systems. With these projects, we are gradually phasing out outdated
architectural and technological solutions. The contribution system is
one target of these reforms. In addition to reforming the technology,
the aim is to improve the functionality of contribution calculations
so that we can enhance and improve our services related to the
calculation of pension contributions. Tieto has long and extensive
experience in successfully delivering employee pension systems to
various customers. This creates good conditions for the success of
the project," says Anssi Raitanen, Information  Technology Director
at Keva.

have knowledge and skills. Over 700 IT experts of the employee
pension sector work in the different units of Tieto. Keva's
contribution system project is a significant reform project for basic
systems, in which we are able to make effective use of our service
