London, November , 11, 2009
Tieto Corporation Press Release 11 November 2009 at 10.00 am EET

Tieto has produced a business solution for the new, deregulated
pharmacy market in Sweden. This solution is the result of Tieto's
in-depth experience of IT services and solutions for the retail trade
and healthcare markets. The business system is packaged to provide
the IT support that a pharmacy player needs to establish its presence
in the pharmacy market and to process e-prescriptions in shops.

"We're presenting a scalable industry solution with a high level of
functionality, which meets the demands that pharmacy players may
place on a business system. It can be extensively and
cost-effectively adapted thanks to its new layered architecture,
which many other business systems on the market lack," explains Maria
Lundberg, head of Tieto Retail & Logistics in Sweden.

The solution, produced in a joint project with Medius AB, is based on
Microsoft Dynamics Ax 2009, with the Retail Chain Manager industry
add-on. The solution also includes the RX module, which is required
for the pharmacy market's special functions, such as e-prescription
processing in shops. The same RX module can also be offered as a
stand-alone module to new players for other business systems.

"Tieto has been the principal supplier of IT support to the pharmacy
market in Sweden for several years. The new business system is an
important milestone for us," says Maria Lundberg. "A third of retail
companies in Sweden have stated that they will replace their business
system within three years, so our goal is to establish Tieto as a
supplier of standardised business systems for the Swedish retail
trade."

The RX module in Tieto's solution will be certified by Apotekens
Service AB, the state-owned company that has the main aim of
providing central infrastructure, such as a cost ceiling database and
a register of prescribers to all pharmacy players in the market. The
certification is expected to be approved before the summer of 2010.
