. Spread over five consecutive nights and centering on a high-speed crash on the A12, the ITV1 mini-series is written by Anthony Horowitz and interweaves the stories of the drivers, passengers and others involved in the aftermath of the tragic smash.

‘My character doesn’t know much more than the audience,’ former Primeval star Douglas Henshall, who plays investigating officer DI

John Tolin, tells TV Choice. ‘It is so open for interpretation, we are asking the audience to use their brains a wee bit – I think that is what TV should be about!’

Also in this week’s issue, comedy Beautiful People about gay teenager Simon growing up in 1998 Reading returns, while Seventies icons Donny and Marie Osmond entertain a celebrity audience with songs and chat. Comic Miranda Hart also reveals more about her semi-autobiographical sitcom Miranda, while Gray O’Brien reflects on his two years playing Coronation Street villain Tony Gordon.

Have I Got News For You’s Ian Hislop discovers how soldiers from the colonies fought in WWI, and naturalist Jeremy Wade seeks out man-eating fish in River Monsters. Actress Angela Griffin also tells us why she’s gone for a career change to host her own chat show, while former Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones is excited by his new quiz show Sell Me The Answer.

In the soaps, EastEnders’ Ronnie lures Owen into bed, while in Coronation Street Tony issues Roy with a deadly warning! In Emmerdale, Laurel is trapped in the burning church after a run-in with Sally, and Charlie goes missing in Hollyoaks. Tragedy strikes in Doctors when Cherry wakes to find Scott dead next to her. Lily Allen makes an appearance in Neighbours, and Rachel has a scare over baby Harry in Home And Away.

We also have four prizes of £500 in Love2shop vouchers to be won in this week’s fabulous competition.
