Drexel Hill, PA – February 28, 2013 – The NAACP, Philadelphia Chapter will be celebrating 104 of the area’s most influential black women of 2013 on March 24th at the Grand Ballroom in The First District Plaza, downtown Philadelphia.
Among this year’s honorees is Thigpen’s Professionals own, Naketa Thigpen. Says Mrs. Thigpen, "I am incredibly humbled to have been selected by such a historic institution as the NAACP for this honor. To be recognized among so many talented and celebrated women, there are no words to describe my excitement... to be awarded the opportunity to represent my family and [Thigpen’s Professionals] at such a prestigious occasion is awesome!" In addition to the individual recognition, the well-regarded awardees will be featured in the Henry Lee Moon Library and Civil Rights Archives which is located in the NAACP National Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland. The NAACP (National Advancement for the Association of Colored People) was founded in 1909 and is the nation’s
oldest and largest civil rights organization.
For Naketa, this acknowledgment comes on the heels of a number of well received speaking engagements, the launch of one of her signature workshops – Breaking Barriers in Business and the group coaching program garnering acclaim – Balance Beam.
