The Vatican are planning to launch a seven-language TV network by the end of the year (07).
POPE BENEDICT XVI hopes to reach new audiences and spread the word of God on the H20 network, which will broadcast Catholic-related news and entertainment.
Speaking to city state's communications division on Friday (09MAR07), the pontiff said, "Undoubtedly, much of great benefit to civilization is contributed by the various components of the mass media.
"On the other hand, it is also readily apparent that much of what is transmitted in various forms to the homes of millions of families around the world is destructive."
