Orce Serrano Hams, the Spanish based online delicatessen announced the release of their new product line Manteca de Cerdo or Iberian fat. Customers can now choose the new alternative to goose fat to include in cooking and recipes.
Announcing the new product, Iain Macdonald, co-owner of Orce Serrano Hams said 'Iberian fat is the new cooking ingredient for 2008, it has
been endorsed by top T.V and restaurant chefs and is sure to become a vital ingredient in every good kitchen.'
Manteca de Cerdo is a product from Iberian pigs which in turn produce the worlds most famous and expensive Spanish hams. Every product deriving from these black footed hogs have a flavour unlike anything else. Iberico fat is no exception and is already making a significant impact in trade kitchens throughout the UK. Chefs favour the Manteca in various forms of cooking but by far the most popular is for perfect golden roast potatoes.
