Los Angeles-based Sexual Recovery Institute : (SRI) has announced an additional twelve-day intensive outpatient program (IOP) and retention of sex addiction specialists : to meet the needs of the burgeoning number of clients seeking sexual addiction and intimacy disorder-related treatment.

“With the plethora of media coverage surrounding sex addiction cases involving high-profile athletes and celebrities, the public has become more aware and knowledgeable on this ‘hypersexuality’ : disorder,” remarked Robert Weiss, LCSW, CSAT-S, founding director of the Sexual Recovery Institute.

“Furthermore, with the explosion of the mobile application market, and accessibility of everything from porn and online hook-ups to Craig's List related 'adult services' listings, our caseload related to web-based sex addiction has

increased by at nearly 40% in the past nine months alone.”

SRI’s leading outpatient treatment program, the twelve-day IOP : , focuses on helping clients identify and eliminate all sexual acting out behavior and develop the tools needed to prevent sexual relapse. Less costly and time consuming than a four- to six-week hospital or residential treatment program, the IOP offers similar benefits including: spousal involvement, structured social support, psycho-education, and daily individual therapy.
