Asian celebrity chef - Alvin Koh, also known as the Sensual Chef in Asia, will be celebrating his one year anniversary with his Singapore Heritage Restaurant in Surry Hills with celebration as the dictum, a hawkers' fair featuring the popular street food of Singapore will be held at the St Margaret Complex. In conjunction with The Singapore Heritage Restaurant's first year anniversary, Alvin and his team will be launching a month long promotion to the public with 'The Singapore Hawkers' Fair' (Popular heritage street food)at their large courtyard area of their restaurant located on the St Margaret's' complex on Surry Hills.
Singapore is well known for her explosive &
colorful street hawkers' food. During the 30s - to the early 80s, street hawkers with their homemade delicious recipes are found on very corners of the island. For 3 generations Singaporeans literally grow up eating from the streets, and that was before the government illegalizes the hawkers and institutionalized them into food courts.
With the hawkers' fair you will be taking on a journey back in time; to the reminiscence of the 70s where 'Food is Love' - The Singapore's Style!
The Singapore Heritage Restaurant is the National Restaurant of the Republic of Singapore. Besides promoting the rich and diverse cuisines of its country, it is here in Sydney too to promote the bilateral relationship between Singapore and Australia through the platform of cultural and culinary exchange
