He has been recognized with national and state awards; he has leadership experience in civic, social, and community organizations and local, state and federal government. He has a strong interest in family genealogy and is a member of the Society of Colonial Wars, Sons of the Revolution, and Sons of the American Revolution. Thomas earned undergraduate degrees in economics and business administration and graduate degrees in public administration and management.
