The MENA ICT Forum 2013 is officially launched at King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre, Dead Sea

2013-03-06 10:09:59 - Under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, the Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (int@j) and in partnership with the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT),

and the Arab ICT Organization (ijma3), with support of the United States Agency for International Development - USAID, launched the MENA ICT Forum 2013 in the presence of key leaders and decision makers representing regional and global companies who came to share their latest developments under the umbrella of the MENA ICT Forum 2013 at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre.

Over the course of its 2 days event, the MENA ICT Forum 2013 is held for the sixth time in the midst of great transformations and changes in the global and regional ICT sector and will be driven by the theme “Arab ICT Spring: Realizing Potential”. The first day presents sessions tackling topics such as: The state of

Arab ICT Transformation, Global ICT Innovation, how is ICT transforming sectors and realizing Arab ICT Potential. Engaging panels involves the participants to interact with the speakers who represent major regional and global companies. The second day also introduces interesting sessions under the following titles: Accelerating development in the Arab world: investment, entrepreneurship and incubation, internet freedom and governance supported by several breakout sessions entitled: employment and HR challenges, games and gamification, transforming telecommunications, the value of IP and content in Arabia, outsourcing in MENA, women in technology, cyber security among other relevant topics in this field.
Intaj also organized the “Invest in ICT” function in collaboration with Endeavor which serves as a unique platform that encourages investment and will link participants with regional and global investors while ensuring a strong networking opportunity.
The CEO of Intaj, Abed Shamlawi stated: “This year’s MENA ICT Forum 2013 unravels a significant content rich agenda; it comes in parallel with the rapid transformations in the field of ICT and internet, which has grown to become a pivotal contributor impacting all sectors in the economy.”
Shamlawi added: “Global and regional speakers will discuss the latest developments in the industry and will tackle issues such as cloud computing, smartphones and the development of the mobile technology, and the merging of ICT to positively support sectors like health and education, and the entrepreneurial innovation in this field along with the growth of social media networks. We look forward to materializing new partnerships and to effectively engage with our participants.”
