The Marriage of Fashion and Football
Fashion and football are getting serious and it's never been more prevalent then with today's NFL elite being linked to Hollywood hottest fashionista's. In fact, the new marriage between fashion and football is heating up so much that the 2007 football season was dominated by who's dating who between the usually parallel worlds.

super model, Giselle Bundchen has been pictured all over the globe with Patriots QB Tom Brady. She even made appearances at several playoff games to cheer her man on.
America is going crazy keeping up with Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Reggie Bush, who is a RB for the Saints. Kim, who originally made money organizing celebrity closets, now, co-owns Dash Boutique in California.
Super Bowl MVP, Eli Manning, just married his longtime girlfriend Abby McGrew who happens to be an account executive for Pamela Roland, who designs evening wear and wedding dresses.
Victoria's secret bombshell, Selita Ebanks has also scored an NFL hottie by the name of Osi Umenyiora of the NY Giants. As you may know, Selita was formerly engaged to Nick Cannon who is now married to Mariah Carey. Now how's that for Fashion and Football!
And who can forget the diehard Republican Party representative, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, former host of the style networks Look For Less and current co-host of The View, is married to Cardinals QB Tim Hasselbeck.
It is hard to deny the impact that fashion is having on football but also the impact it is having on fashion. That is why it comes as no surprise that The Fashion Reporter in conjunction with Land Rover Manhattan, Blue Star Jets, Avianne & Co Jewelers and The Tayion Collection had to formally introduce the unlikely pair to the masses at their 1st Annual Fashion and Football NFL Draft Style Gala.
This event brought out several of NFL's finest including RW McQuarters, Kevin Dockery, Brandon London, Steve Smith, Brandon Jacobs, Fred Harris who are all members of the 2008 Super Bowl Champion New York Giants team in addition to Ryan Grant of the Green Bay Packers, Ovie Mughelli of the Atlanta Falcons, Leon Washington, Kherri Rhoades and David Clowney of the NY Jets, as well as 1st round top draft picks including Adrian Peterson, Amir Pinnix and Glen Dorsey to name a few. Also in attendance were platinum recording artist and music producer, David Banner, C.A.R.M.E.N., pop band trio on Atlantic Records along with the 'American Girl' herself, Estelle, not to mention Jay-z's nephew and successor, Mel Carter, Marvel Comic execs, Land Rover's top 100 owners along with a slew of up and coming designers, stylists and BET's black carpet diva Egypt and Power 105's own, Cherry Martinez with live entertainment provided by 106 and Park's own, DJ L just to name a few.
If you weren't present then you missed out on custom tailored men's suits, an array of precious jewels and watches from Avianne and Co. Jewelers, Frozen Margarita parfum courtesy of Demeter Fragrance, German chocolate, lemon, red velvet, and carrot cake cupcakes from the Sweet Spot, lightly passed sushi which guest hand dived into and nearly tackled our servers for, and Wine Cellar Sorbet. Our very patient party goers patiently waited for more cups to arrive since Jose Cuervo Platino ran out of plastic cups, not to mention Nuvo, who completely ran out of product at about 10:30 pm for an event due to end at midnight. Nonetheless cups appeared from the on-site Starbucks and Cuervo Platino was able to keep our partygoers happy because we all know that once the liquor runs out, the party is pretty much over but never the behind the scenes action.
In retrospect, this conjugality between fashion and football is sure to stay together for years to come so disbelievers should just get used to seeing Jessica Simpson in the stands showing love for not only her hometown but for her Texas Cowboy sensation, Tony Romo. After all, she reportedly has said that' this is the real thing'!
