/EINPresswire.com/ UK (submitpressrelease123.com - press release) With Christmas and New Year fast approaching, The Harley Medical Group has reported a significant increase in customers coming into the clinics booking Liposuction treatment. Research from the British Dietetic Association suggests that on average, a person gains up to five pounds during the festivities and so problems of excessive weight are on the minds of many.
Also known as 'Lipoplasty' or 'Fat Modelling', Liposuction involves removing excess fat and reshaping certain areas of the human body. The surgery can be performed on any area of the body, but typical problem areas often include our arms, hips, outer and inner thighs, upper arms, and inner knees. Liposuction can also be used as part of
another procedure such as the Tummy Tuck, Breast Reduction and Male Chest Reduction Surgery.
Hannah Roberts, Senior Nurse Counsellor at The Harley Medical Group, said: "For a lot of people losing weight, toning up and achieving the figure they want requires a combination of healthy eating and regular exercise, but some can be left with stubborn pockets of fat that no amount of exercise or dieting is able to shift. With Christmas on the horizon, and many of us feeling unsure about our body shapes, we have noticed an increasing number of bookings for Liposuction treatment in preparation for the festive extravaganza.
A common misconception that we often face is that the surgery will produce rapid weight loss. This however, is not the case; Liposuction is a procedure best suited for body sculpting so if you are hugely overweight you may not be suitable. It is therefore mandatory at The Harley Medical Group, for everyone to have a consultation so that we can measure your BMI and assess whether you are a suitable candidate for the procedure."
Chloe Ekland, a patient at The Harley Medical Group, says: "After having two children I gained an enormous amount of excess weight which left me feeling miserable, introvert and constantly apprehensive about the way I looked. Since losing weight I have been desperate to get into a bikini but with excess skin I've still felt uncomfortable. Liposuction has produced fantastic results and I'm now so excited to show off my new body in time for the approaching Christmas parties!"
