LATEST: Rapper THE GAME and his ex-fiancee haven't given up on the idea of marriage, but they knew the timing wasn't right when they ended their romance this summer (MAY06).
The DREAMS hitmaker proposed to VALEISHA BUTTERFIELD in March (06) and the couple were planning a March 2007 wedding when they both agreed they weren't meant for each other at that time.
But, speaking candidly to King magazine, the rap star admits he still loves his ex.
He says, "I wasn't ready to give my life up. I didn't want to give up being a pimp. I got to let my nuts hang a little longer." And Butterfield, the daughter of North Carolina congressman GK BUTTERFIELD, agrees: "He and I both share a similar philosophy, which is you should be with, and hopefully eventually marry, your best friend.
"It was just about, 'Are these two people right for each other, and are they meant to be married?' We felt like it wasn't (sic) ready. It was mutual, but we're still close."
