Northumbria Numbers continues with development of its new website with a new selling process. Previously the process of putting a number plate up for sale was lengthy and labour intensive. Through the use of clever web pages and PHP programming Northumbria Numbers' customers can now put their personalised registration number up for sale quickly and easily.
Step one is to fill

in a few details such as email address and registration number to sell, this generates a record on the server and is responded to by email. If the estimated valuation is acceptable to the customer he or she clicks a link which takes them to another web page where further details are collected such as postal address. When this page is posted the record for this registration number is updated, a commission is added to the valuation and the number is added to the database.
The system also remembers to contact the owner at a pre-determined interval to confirm that they still have the registration number available ( assuming it hasn't sold) and deletes those no longer available thereby preventing the advertising of number plates which are no longer available.
